Cellulite, fat stored in nodules just under the skin, gives the body the appearance of a dimpled surface. Studies have shown that exercise is the only one that provides the longest-term benefit to minimize the appearance of cellulite, even if it can sometimes seem momentarily more evident after exercise.
Exercise and cellulite
A study by Dr. Wayne Wescott showed that a balance between resistance training and cardiovascular exercise can decrease the appearance of cellulite. If your cellulite looks worse after exercising, it could be due to another factor, such as dehydration. When you are dehydrated, the fat cells come closer to the surface of the skin. This creates the "dimpled" appearance typical of cellulite. Drinking plenty of water and avoiding drinks with caffeine, taking an antioxidant and eating a diet with healthy fats will help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
