If you are looking to improve your game, practice at home may be the most convenient way to do it. At home you can perform exercises and work on the movements so that you can be a better player when you go to the gym or play field.

Designates an area to practice and install a basketball goal. Find an area with a solid base, like a cement road. You will also want to choose a location that is large enough to meet your basketball needs and plans.

Practice passing the ball. You can shoot someone else or a point marked on the wall. Do this several times until you get tired. With each pass, concentrate on hitting the point each time. This will increase your passing skills as well as strengthen the arm and wrist muscles to make you a better basketball player.

Dribble the ball for long periods of time. An indicator of whether you have practiced this skill enough is to dribble the ball without looking at it. In addition, you must practice with each hand to generate strength in your weaker hand.

Make the shots you would try in a game. Stand on the three-point line or at the distance you could be and practice throwing the ball. Make each shot aggressive. Your strength must come from the legs, not from the arms.

Develop your bounce skills by holding your hands firmly. This can be practiced at home starting on the right side of the basket and holding the ball with both hands. Jump and throw the ball to hit the board as hard as you can, three times in a row. Jump a fourth time and throw the ball to the basket. Change sideways and repeat four times. Keep the ball on your head during this exercise.
