Exercises To Generate Stamina

Exercises To Generate Stamina

Stamina is your body's ability to withstand physical activities without getting tired or having to stop before reaching your goal. This may vary depending on age, physical condition and health. Regardless of your age or the condition you are in, you can increase your stamina by doing resistance exercises and changing your lifestyle to improve your health. You must change the resistance exercises to avoid getting bored; therefore change your agreement according to your progress.

Concentrate on balanced training to improve stamina. The American College of Sports Medicine says that balance can be affected by resistance. To improve your balance you must work with a trainer using equipment such as balance disc (balnace disc), balance pillow (balance pillow), giant ball (stability ball), ball rolling (balance board) or rubber roll (foam roller). With the balancing disc you can stop, sit or try to balance yourself on it.

One recommendation from the American College of Sports Medicine to improve endurance is to exercise using weights (free weights) with which you will improve muscle size and health in general. You can use dumbbells (hand-held dumbbells) or barbells, which are long barbells with different weights on the sides. Concentrate on the legs, upper body and torso. Work on muscle endurance by doing groups of 15 to 20 repetitions when using weights.

To increase stamina and improve muscle strength you can use a medicine ball. The medical balls come in different weights and sizes. Use them to exercise as abdominal V-ups where you lie on your back and raise your arms holding the ball, while you raise your legs without flexing. Sit and raise your legs to leave them in a V position and use your arms to lift the ball over your head. Lower your arms and legs and repeat the exercise.

Walk, jog or run daily to increase your stamina. Try to increase your speed and distance to increase your resistance.

Take Yoga classes to improve endurance. Yoga movements exercise your organs and muscles. Some types of Yoga such as Bikram, Vinyasa and Ashtanga can increase stamina production as mentioned by Kids Health.

Council

The recommendation of the American College of Sports Medicine is to feed your body before, during and after endurance exercises. Energy bars, pretzels, fruit smoothies, raisins and water are good options.

Warnings

Start with warm-up activities and when you finish your exercises do cooling exercises. Talk to your doctor before starting any exercise program.
