A long run can make you feel good, but the muscle cramps in your feet can ruin you the rest of the day. These occur due to dehydration and muscular effort. After working the muscles for a long period of time, those of your feet can contract involuntarily causing a painful spasm. You can reduce foot cramps, with items you probably have in your home. Consult your doctor before treating cramps for your account, especially if you have health problems or injuries.
Rub your feet to relax the muscles and reduce cramps in the feet. Do it up, where the heart is, to increase blood flow to your feet, which will help relax the muscles. If you have cramps while sleeping, rub your feet just before going to bed.
Stretch your feet after running and before going to bed. Extend your fingers for five seconds and then flex them. Continue alternating stretches and push-ups for one minute.
Drink water or a sports drink with electrolytes immediately after running and maintain hydration before going to bed. Dehydration can cause cramping and the fluid can help you eliminate them.
Place an electric mat or electric blanket on your feet before you go to bed. The heat will relax your muscles and that decreases the possibility of suffering from night cramps.
Go to sleep. If you lack sleep, running can cause more muscle fatigue than usual. When you wake up the next morning, your feet will be more relaxed.
Sleeps barefoot or in loose socks; If you wear tight socks, the cramps can get worse.
