How To Make A Baked Potato On The Stove

Potatoes are an excellent garnish, either with a chicken, fish or meat dish. In addition to the oven, the potatoes can be baked on the stove. A few simple ingredients combine with about 20 minutes of cooking time and create delicious potatoes.

Choose your potatoes. For this recipe, a batch of small red potatoes, about eight or less, works best. If you did not find small potatoes, select the large red potatoes and cut them into four smaller pieces. Wash the potatoes under the cold water jet. Use a brush or sponge for vegetables to get rid of any dirt that may be stuck to the skin. Place the cleaned potatoes on a clean plate and dry them with a paper towel.

Place the potatoes in a large, sturdy skillet. Make sure you place the potatoes in a single layer and not on top of each other. This will help all the potatoes are fully cooked. Add water to the pan until the potatoes are almost covered. Next, add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and three thin slices of garlic. Put the water to boil and then lower the temperature until the water in the pan keeps boiling.

Cook the potatoes until the water evaporates, it should take between 15 and 20 minutes depending on the type of stove. Leave the potatoes in the pan for two or three more minutes. Use a wooden spoon to gently stir the potatoes once or twice during this time. When the skin of the potatoes looks golden, they are ready to be served.

Gently with the wooden spoon, place the potatoes in a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh parsley. This recipe yields for four people. Do not hesitate to add other spices and condiments, such as salt and pepper.
