How To Take Dmae

DMAE, or dimethylaminoethanol, is an antioxidant first proven as deanol to improve short-term memory and cognitive function. This one had its rebirth with the publication of "The Perricone Prescription" by Dr. Nicholas Perricone. Today, DMAE is taken to improve mental clarity and alertness, as well as skin tightening and wrinkle removal and is considered useful in anti-aging medications and Alzheimer's treatments. The aesthetic and cognitive rejuvenation are the result of boosting the production of acetylcholine from DMAE. Although DMAE occurs naturally in the body, you need to ingest it regularly to maintain it at the necessary level.

Add sources of food that contain DMAE in your diet. Salmon, sardines and anchovies are excellent sources of DMAE. These can be included in fresh, frozen, canned or smoked products in your meals. It also includes sauces -such as Worcestershire sauce- that contain any of these fish in your recipes.

Take DMAE supplements, because you're unlikely to get all the fish you need from the fish. These supplements are available as DMAE and salt DMAE bitartrate. Start with a low dose of DMAE, then increase it 600 mg a day taken in two or three divided doses, preferably with meals.

Applies topical cosmetics containing DMAE directly on the skin. DMAE can be found in moisturizers, emollients and acne medications, as well as products designed to soften the skin, the eye lift, the firming of the face and the widening of the lips. Check the label to find out if DMAE or dimethylaminoethanol is included as one of the ingredients.
